TROPICAL STORM

Hey friends,

Tropical Storm Nicole is making her presence known right now. Thunder, lightning, rain like crazy- flooded streets...Yesterday, picture this!
Our property was without electricity, and some parts without running water, while all day dreary winds and rain buffeted us. The ocean which is usually a sparkling blue and aqua blend was running brown with the run off from overflowing villages and rivers. I couldnt even see the road, as there was a lively bubbling river in its place. Our students were running around drenched, trying to get things done in the gloomy rain.

Finally, at about nine p.m our electricity came back, and our pumps were able to take running water up to the top part of the campus (where we Hesses live). It was kind of a crazy adventure.

Pray for us that we continue to have electricity this week while the storm passes- its hard to feed people without water power, or even have classes without light!

Pray for us as we continue to walk with our DTS students. They finished sharing their testimonies this week, and it has been an emotional journey to hear each persons walk without God, and how He's changing them still. Many of our students are young- mostly teens, and many of them have come straight from their challenging circumstances straight into DTS. That means they're still wobbling a bit, still recovering, still trying to figure out who God is and where He's taking them.
Our responsibility to hear from God and walk in obedience is great and we take it seriously!

Continue to pray for us as we walk alongside our new family in this season.

Blessings,
Hesses
