Our blog has not been updated in so long, we're actually quite embarassed! For a while there, we were going to do up a website - but the thought came, if we cant even find time to do a blog, who's goin to maintain our site?? So maybe that's on hold a little bit.
Hello friends!
This is our catching up blog. For those of you who have been following our journey any at all, you would know we have been facing immigration issues on both sides ever since we started missions. John is sorted out for a short while, but his paperwork is of a temporary nature, while I, Danya, am sorted out for good as I have finally gotten through with US citizenship! YAY! So we're at peace regarding papers in this season, and we get to just totally enjoy being missionaries, working with this DTS with its wonderful 17 students, and just being together doing what God has us doing for this season.
We wanted to get some pics going on this site just so you can celebrate with us!
This is us waiting for the proceedings to unfold- we weren't sure what to expect!
I was so proud to have Mom-in-Law there with me. Sharon is awesome. repeat: awesome.
I celebrate with my AMURCAN husband at an AMURCAN coffeeshop with frenchfries, because we are AMURCANS. Its just who we are.
Later, we celebrate again with family. All in all, just must marvel at the faithfulness of God in making this thing happen so fast for us. He really finished well what He began and we are in Awe.
Now here are some random pics we thought we could share with you.
We used one of our many trips to Philly during this time to sightsee some cultural/historic sites.
This is John posing by the Liberty Bell. He was only tapping it to see if it was real and before we knew it his super strength had the thing cracked right down the middle. Ah well, maybe no one will notice it's broken...
Look who's sitting on that park bench! It's an AMURCAN!!!
We had a blast in PA, and we're having a blast being back in Jamaica. Keep us in your prayers as we work with the DTS and seek God to define our long-term purpose as we serve.
LOVE
HESSES
