Homes of Hope

Hey guys,

These pictures are long overdue...They follow what John was doing a few weeks ago with his Homes of Hope project up in the community. Homes of Hope is an outreach arm of YWAM and it involves YWAM staff and teams and volunteers building a home for a family living in dire circumstances. It allows the teams to really bond with the people they are helping and it focuses on a practical demonstration of the gospel. It is hard work, but rewarding work. John came home sweaty and hot, late every evening while the house was being built, but he always had this immense sense of pleasure at knowing how his day was being spent to bring a better quality of life to an awesome family.

what started out for the team as a project and manual labour

soon became a mission

john supervises and gets fully involved. As the home takes shape, each team member gets more involved and takes more ownership of the house!

This ministry is something John enjoys because he loves working hard, and is a committed stick-to-it person. His work ethic was both a challenge and inspiration to this team of youngsters. But the proof is here...any team of willing volunteers can impact and change the circumstances of those who are in need!
